Some of her clothes were made by Silvia Stone, who was the mother of Paulene Stone, the 1960s model. Silvia Stone made the coat shown in the wedding photo.
The black shiny shoes mentioned in the 1970 diary extract are the shoes in the wedding photo.
Elaine Evans was born in Ickenham, Middlesex in 1937. Prior to her birth, her mother Violet Monger had lost a baby in childbirth in 1927 and then had several miscarriages, and she doted on EE and her sister. EE spent her early years at 37 Halford Road, Ickenham. The family evacuated to Yorkshire during the War. After a period back in London after the War, her family moved to Brighton for the sea air in 1948 because a doctor advised that the London smog was bad for her sister's asthma. EE went to Hove County Grammar School for Girls and left school at 18, to take private classes in shorthand and typing. She did a variety of secretarial work, including working for Hove Borough Council from 1956-1968. In 1971, she trained as a teacher of English as a Foreign Language and started her own school, the East Sussex School of English, at 92 Portland Road, Hove. She sold the school in 1999. She married in 1957 and divorced in 1965 but met Steve Evans in 1967 whom she married in 1970. The couple lived together in Hove until Steve Evan's death in 2006.
