The Baby book was kept by Elaine Evan's Mother Violet Monger. It contains details of EE's progress as a baby including her weight, first words, what food she was eating, early birthdays and the milestones in a child's life. The book covers the years of the Second World War, when is written of EE 'Nerves bad due to air raids'. VM writes that the heavy air raids that they suffered whilst living in Hillingdon did EE much harm and her health suffered. The family left for Yorkshire after the birth of EE's sister Mary on 29th December 1940. They left Yorkshire in 1945 for Hillingdon due to Mary's asthma and bronchitis, and then moved again to Hove where EE attended Hove County Grammer School. The last entry is Decemer 1949 although there are some notes on illnesses suffered by EE and ME which seem to have been made at a later date. There are two pages of photos, one page conatins 7 photographs of EE at six weeks with (it is assumed) her parents and grandparents. The other a single portarait of EE as a baby.
