Letter in the Attic was a joint project between local community publisher QueenSpark Books, the My Brighton and Hove community history website (www.mybrightonandhove.org.uk), the East Sussex Record Office and the Mass Observation Archive. The project was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Contributors could either deposit original documents with the East Sussex Record Office or keep the originals in their own care. In the latter case, the project team made digital copies of the documents, which are listed here. If the documents were too long to scan, extracts were selected. Catalogue entries were written and numbered by contributors and volunteers, with some editing from staff at the East Sussex Record Office.
The collection of papers formed the basis of a book and an education pack published by QueenSpark.
