Description

Eight letters written to Brian Tucknott's mother, Beryl, during the Falklands War of 1982. The letters cover the journey to the Islands by troop ship and some of the time spent there. They cover aspects of BT's daily work, both on the ships and on shore handling the stores, and on the social and daily life of the troops.

Biographical information

Brian Tucknott was born in 1961 in Brighton and, at the time of writing the letters, was a Lance Corporal with Composite Port Squadron A, 17 Port Regiment, Royal Corps of Transport deployed to the Falkland Islands during the 1982 conflict between the UK and Argentina.
