Letter in the Attic

Letter from William Vine to his daughter Rhoda Waterman (Mrs John Waterman Junr) written from Vine Place, Brighton to Brenchley, Kent

About this item:

Description

WV talks about suffering difficult times in body and mind - Satan has tried to weaken his faith through these trials. WV talks of the pain of body he has suffered and that friends thought he was close to death. WV takes this opportunity to remind RW of her own mortality. He writes that he will visit Brenchley at the beginning of June when the weather is better, and hopes that RW will visit Vine Place before this and then travel back to Brenchley with him. WV asks if she has had the baby vaccinated as her mother hopes she has.
